Raven Symone single-handedly ruined the Cosby Show for me. Another one is the younger brother brought on Sister Sister.

All those 80s and 90s shows felt like they need a child as part of the cast. They would have some random ass child join the show once the original kids got too old.

why did ed oneil have any power at that point? i looked at his filmography and it was nothing special before married with children

Ed Oneil was the biggest star they got. His filmography doesn't matter. Fox as a network wasn't shyt at the time. So in that small pond he was the big fish. Over at the Big Three networks he would have been the small fish. Over at the Big Three networks the show would not have happened. Probably would have ended up on Showtime or HBO like Brothers or Dream On.
