This thread is all kinds of depressing, and makes me wonder if there are that many black people out there that are out of touch with the black community.
Let's spell it out for some of you:
- Marshawn is not shy, disrespectful or a c00n. As a matter of fact, he's one of the realest black men you'll ever meet. Dude is always back in Oakland working to build up his community and help the kids.
- His refusal to deal with the media is a silent protest against an institution that thrives off making professional athletes whom they deem intellectually inferior, or not as cerebral as them, to be sub-human by mocking/shaming them. These sniveling fukks (the media) get off on marginalizing athletes out of some deep resentment that stems from their own insecurities, so they make a career out of playing spin-doctors and will twist, misrepresent or take players like Marshawn out of context simply for some cheap hits on the internet or broadcast ratings.
- If you have any sense of community, or an understanding of how we - as a society - de-prioritize social matters in favors of superficial ones, you will instantly recognize the statement that Marshawn is making by the juxtaposition of the one word answers, versus him promoting and articulating his cause that benefits inner-city youth.
As a black man who also live sin Oakland and has worked with these kids, that was an instant

moment.
It's too bad that it doesn't resonate with some of y'all in here.
- Jim Harbaugh, a certified white man is also short with the media, but - for whatever reason - he's not labeled an ignorant c00n like Marshawn.
Maybe he (Harbaugh) understands the devil's game, and is just more militant than some of y'all
