Martin Lawrence’s First Standup Special in 14 Years Airs on Showtime Next Month

Martin Lawrence has a brand new special — his first in 14 years — headed to Showtime next month. The network announced today that Martin Lawrence Doin’ Time: Uncut airs on Friday, September 9th at 9:00pm. Filmed at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, the special follows Lawrence as he “touches on everything from sex and relationships to President Obama, Bill Cosby, Hollywood and more.” His last special, the feature-length standup film Martin Lawrence Live: Runteldat, was released back in 2002.

I went to the live show in Miami and he had me rollin. He needs to work on the sequence of his jokes but he had the whole Miami heat arena dying laughing. The dj messed up the timing of the music drop at the end so the show ended awkwardly but aside from that I was really happy with what I saw.
