Of course Renteldat is anything compared to Martin's earlier classic standup BUT it was more than enough to allow Martin not to be just trapped in the 90's, especially after he had that breakdown. Runteldat was funny enough to cement his place in comedy.

I remember going to see Runteldat opening night. My girl at the time was Asian and I told her "Baby I can't watch this at Medlock Bridge..." I took her to the blackest theater I could find in Atlanta to get the full appreciation of his comeback. She cool around black people but she ain't never really been around "a bunch of nikkas".
She was in there like ....I'm like calm down bytch, you straight. "These are my people. Give us-us free!"
