The truth is Martin strengths in standup were crowd interaction and his energy and delivery. His actually material was funny at times, I personally found his bit on The Fly and the Road Trip to MD hilarious, but a lot of his material was just shock value and re-wording Eddie and Richard's old material.I remember not being that impressed with Martin's stand up specials. Even though while I was in middle school through high school, I thought he was the funniest comedian alive. His Def Comedy Jam hosting and his show was wayy funnier than his actual stand up. "You so crazy"had a few moments but "RUN Tell Dat" was cheeks. I think there was an HBO special he had before he really blew up that was hilarious though.
I'm sorry but Martin's best standup of all type was You So Crazy. I tried running "Run Tell Dat" and now these clips, but it just feels like dude fully transitioned to the movie set, and let go of the stand up steez. No issues at all about it, Eddie Murphy is the same way with going to the set and not falling back into the grind of stand up.

Honestly, I didn't even think You So Crazy was funny, RunTelDat was terrible.I remember not being that impressed with Martin's stand up specials. Katt was my favorite standup for a minute. But his last few have been meh at best.Honestly, I didn't even think You So Crazy was funny, RunTelDat was terrible.
I never really thought Martin was a good stand up comedian, Martin is much funnier on screen. His physical comedy was great on tv. KATT had much better physical comedy on stage.
