I wanted to like this. Finished the pseudo-Atlanta episode (#4). Might get through the rest of the season because it's so short. But...

And no, it's not because there's not enough "Super Hero" shyt. It's just not connecting with me.

If you connect to the character and his plight, its a fun ride and the superhero elements are more sprinkles and icing, than the most dish...

Man, Ben Kingsley is like 4/5 levels deep on his acting on some Inception shyt. He’s acting, as an actor, that’s acting as a terrorist, who he ultimately says isn’t an act to take the fall.

With the ending of season 1, a second season should definitely have more action, but it should keep the toned down stakes.

I think they should focus on more spotlight shows like that and build those characters into movies. A West Coast avengers with war machine ,wonder man, vision, she hulk, shang chi and maybe an eternal or a character from a future spotlight show would be great.

But they should definitely bring him back in doomsday or secret wars.

Mateen is 100% capable of leading his own film. Keep Kingsley around as his Happy Hogan-esque sidekick and it could really be a blast.


But whatever they do, we NEED a season 2 at the least. This was a much needed breath of fresh air for the MCU.

And more cool black three-dimensional male heroes is always appreciated.

that and also this show is really about a struggling actor; not too many people would find that interesting to watch. I mean, that's really one the main things about this show so if you dont care to watch about a actor trying to make it Hollywood, you're just going to be with it and have little to no superhero action.

That comment doesn't exist in a vacuum and was specific in the context of inherently making the show boring/not good. Which - based on the two episodes I've watched - I disagree with.

I liked the two first episodes of this show more than I've liked a lot of Marvel stuff with the proverbial "superhero shyt"

As someone with super hero fatigue I loved that this barely had any super heroism in it.

The acting was top notch and the chemistry between the leads was great. I was rooting for them in the auditions and was down when it didn't look like Simon was getting the part even though he obviously would. You could've removed all traces of Marvel and I would've enjoyed this as a show about an aspiring actor.

The only misstep was the episode with the Go Pro kid.
