FF was good….

Like the Galactus and Silver Surfer stuff is what drags a sometimes boring movie into being good. Every scene with either of them was honestly great, individually and together. They pop off the screen. Anytime it was just the family though the movie dragged as it went into exposition and the family doesn’t have chemistry’s as a family. Ben does nothing but walk around in this movie outside of the scenes with the Silver Surfer chase and Galactus fight. His love interest doesn’t just feel added on, it feels like he is just a guy with a crush on a girl who smiled at him. Johnny does some things. Sue and Reed’s relationship was a bit of a stretch (pun intended) and the worse part is I can say it was probably all comic accurate. The FF as comic character are at their best when they are on adventures and it showed in this movie.

BUT as for the deeper themes ironically enough I thought it was the best “Atlus shrugged” themed superhero movie ever. Like people talk about Snyder’s Uber mensch Superman in Man of Steel and he has nothing on the Uber mensch that are the wealthy, super scientists in the FF.

The FF’s world basically runs around them because everyone thinks they are the best. No honestly the whole universe basically revolving about them. The Surfer basically asks if they defenders of their world. They say yes, and then basically everyone agrees. Galactus wants there baby because this baby is potentially his equal. They risk their whole world for the baby and the only push back are some protestors and a guy doing a TV interview. All the technology…. Reed made that. If ever there was a movie pushing the themes of the wealthy and powerful being everyone’s better it’s FF. They are even morally superior to everyone too. shyt Sue is even doing peace deals with hostile nations on her day off. The FF is better than everyone they run across in that movie. Though I got to give Marvel credit it’s clear Reed is a higher intellect than Tony, which says a lot because Tony basically figured out Time Travel.

It would be interesting to see them interact with everyone else to see if any of the other Marvel characters tell them to shut up or do what we say. Though low-key in the comic only Cyclops, BP, Namor, and Xavier has ever told them to shut the fukk up….. everyone else loves them.

I thought Superman was very good and I think this is just good. If you zone out during the scenes without SS and Galactus you won’t miss anything. It not a fun movie, but it’s not bad.

I assume Doomsday connects the two scenes
From Thunder bolts and how people were talking I assumed that time would be more forward in Fantastic 4

If I remember Franklin wasn’t even in Thunderbolts

I just thought that the Fantastic Four would take a Big ass L a morale victory would be teleporting some of their world to the main marvel world

This is why I loved all the Krakoa X-Men stuff. They not only made people coming back from the dead canon, they didn't just handwave away the ultra-powerful shyt. They also tuned up people that needed to be tuned up like Storm.

Having Sue be into the two brown men of Marvel is hilarious. :russ:
Increasing power levels is just lazy writing, to me. Marvel heroes, with the exception of gods, should be more closer to street level which made the stories more interesting. That's all my opinion

7.5/10. Didnt stick the landing but there were some amazing scenes in this. The Silver Surfer was the MVP. Came through crushing buildings. I’m a sucker for dope space scenes and I don’t think marvel has had a scene cooler than some of her scenes in this movie.
We might need to get the receipts for people that was shytting on her :sas2:

I had a lot reservations for this movie Joesph Quinn as Jonny storm, surfer being shalla ball, Matt Shakman as the director . Matt Shakman leans into his strength of world building using the (60s) retro aesthetic, with the visuals and sound like he did in Wanda-vision. Ultimately the movie won me over with that second act. Great use of escalation, score and it felt like all of the characters (FF , Surfer, and Galactus) introduced into the movie were showcased at their peak. Ben is kinda shafted this movie I feel like they did it because he has such a big focus in 05 series. The third act is the weakest but it’s still ends strong with Franklin saving Sue.

I’d give the movie a strong 8 also I want to seem them interact with Spider-man.

Some people are saying this is the best modern day comic movie. Crazy that marvel is back like cooked crack

Idk what they defining Modern by but this was just a good movie and a good balance of everything.

This and Thunderbolts were good ass movies and feel like a positive departure from the mid we been getting for a while. BNW wasn't ass but felt like the closing of the last chapter compared to these stylistically and just as a movie in general.

The comedy in this movie wasnt no wacky shyt and that was refreshing
