Super meh.

This is of course only a trailer but the dynamic with Reed & Sue looks… :patrice:

Johnny’s dialogue in the dining room scene :patrice:

Casually throwing in the Silver Surfer :patrice:

The CGI :patrice:

The 70’s aesthetics and the visual quality looks great tho:ehh:

This movie takes place in an alternate 1960s timeline.

After the events of the movie, FF4 and @Doctor Doom will join us in this timeline for the Avengers movies

They're in an alternate universe. Otherwise, the MCU would have to explain why the FF never showed up before. The FF will end up in the main MCU timeline by the end of the film (and that leads into Avengers: Doomsday).
I understand they're in an alternate universe but the 1960s aesthetic is unnecessary and weird. It's like they're reimagining the Fantastic Four as a period piece. It should have been a modern alternate universe set in 2025

Well, it's all a matter of opinion. Yours is in the minority. Most people (myself included) love the retrofuturistic '60s aesthetic and don't think it's "unnecessary" or "weird" at all.

The FF first debuted in the comics in 1961, and this film fits perfectly with that era.

That’s actually one of the highlights for me. The world looks amazing.

So far the actors don’t imo :hubie:

One of the things that made the avengers movie amazing was the individual movies/stories and introduction leading up to it.

FF movies might never hit because you’re just throwing 4 characters into peoples faces who might not care or know they exist. (We do of course) plus their stories aren’t exactly blow you out the park status.

MARVEL STUDIOS officially Red Lobster Status. No one gives a shyt about their standalones because you know the villain will die, and that Hero will need to focus on AVENGERS stuff; Cheddar Bay Biscuits.
If you go to a Marvel movie expecting the hero to die, somethings wrong with you
