Fighting game Devs have always always done this, if a update or character drops another company drops a update or character the same week or weekend before.

With the fighting game devs it's understood and mostly friendly. They know that its better to try to piggy back off the amount of people that might be checking in again or for the 1st time in a relatively close time frame.

I don't like DBFZ(until this last season where they let nikkas do real combos) and it is homogenized, but I'm gonna cut a little bail here

Mechanically Dbf is very bare but the true major issue is the lack of character diversity because it's DBZ.

Dragonball will always have a place in my heart but I can admit that between all of them nikkas there's maybe 10 moves Aside from Piccolo and Buu all them nikkas got is balls and beams That's a major reason why dbf is mechanically stale. Everybody got the same moves

Marvel on the other hand, has countless characters with unique powers and abilities. This alone is why I'm giving Tokon more of a chance than I ever gave Dbf

Yeah, this. I saw the forest for the trees for this alone when it was first shown. My interest was very middling. Me being me tho, I still bought it day one and played it for just 1 month and pretty much never played again.

That's the quickest I've ever stopped playing a fighting game I bought. Especially one that wasn't too dififcult to find players to play, although the online and set up was garbage back then too, so that didn't do it any favors by me either.

Yeah, Tokon's marvel diversity got me much more anticipated from jump and I could care less how unlike "mahvel" it plays. That's a good thing really. Better to see the property in a different vain and let mahvel be mahvel.
