I'm glad that the board is splintering. Threads covering stories about Black people suffering somehow always seem to have these kind of callous takes.
Whether its about people encountering racist policies, job loss, or violence/homicides.

Just like the responses in the Black women leaving the workforce at the highest rates thread they think it’s actually acceptable to have these kinds of opinions and takes as if people actually deserve it or appropriate in threads like these. A disturbing number of grown ass coli posters have just as much disdain and envy for Black people they don’t even know as *them* people.

In Addition to the Fed layoffs, Governor Moore initiated a state hiring freeze in MD and is offering state employees voluntary buyouts to reduce personnel costs.

Also state employees will not receive merit raises or step increases......only a 1 % cost-of-living raise.

This disdain was noted and exploited by Republicans in their messaging trying to court Black voters and/or discourage them from voting in 2020 and 2024.

Was crazy to see members and moderators fall for it and get hustled like that.

I’m curious to see where we will land, employment/unemployment and more recent salaries relative to number of undergraduate and master degree holding Black people and industries.

A number of people I know have been getting let go from their roles.

OP you always be on point with the sources do you know offhand of reputable “think tanks” or orgs that measure something along these lines?

Just FYI, I been looking. I haven't found anything yet though.
