Bout to listen to this album again

I still say Same nikkas is Mase’s best song

Also, the gems on this album far outweigh the highs of Harlem World album

Same nikkas
Another Story To Tell
Stay Out Of My Way
Blood Is Thicker
You Ain’t Smart
From Scratch
F*ck Me, F*ck You
You Ain’t Smart
Get Ready (I always liked this single, even back then)

Only songs on Double Up that were wack are If You Want To Party, No Matter What, Gettin’ It and All I Ever Wanted.

The hardest song on Harlem World was Take What’s Your’s with X.

Blasphemy on "All i ever wanted" being "wack", That's A BIG HIT SINGLE in the summer of 99 had Mase decided not to retire and Bad Boy pushes it, would've gave Mase another 1-2 punch with "Get Ready" and "All i ever wanted". Then with that huge formula of having a Remix, sh*t would've been over :blessed:

That beat for All Ever Wanted was so lifeless

It probably would’ve worked if he wouldn’t have retired but it doesn’t change the fact that beat and song was so forgettable. Just sounds like a song Mase, Nyshiem and Cheri Dennis made with zero enthusiasm

The beats on double up were a fall off compared to harlem world. Mase was rapping his ass off tho.

if anything that song might've influenced 50 with Destiny's child on "Thug Luv" cuz of the similarities of the way they sound

The only beats that I flat out don’t like are

Do It Again
No Matter What
Gettin’ It
All I Ever Wanted
If You Want To Party

The beats for ^those^ songs were trash

It may have, doesn’t make it any more likable to me though

That beat for All I Ever Wanted just sounds like background music for a MTV or VH1 reality show to me.

Now two beats that are great is Same nikkas and Stay Out Of My Way.

How do you guys think Mase would of sounded flowing over Kanye production (circa 03-08)

Mase was still had that high tier 1 flow when he came back in 2004. It's just him linking back up to fullfil his duties with Puff set him back sonically. If things were different and slid with Kanye production of even signed with G Unit like he anticipated things would of been a lot different.

We only really got one version of Mase and that's the Bad Boy pop version. A second wind Mase over Kanye production would of been sick. Can you imagine how he would slid on something like Flashing Lights. He would of went crazy on that shyt lol

He would’ve sounded great

Mase’s time in the game for how and when he left will always be a “what if he never left” question
