Some of the stuff is coincidental or luck - who would know Just Blaze and Kanye would become what they became at the time. But sure, a blueprint for sales domination was discovered…and East coast wise you gotta give Diddy credit for setting it up for Mase. You could call it the LAD playbook with some revisions.

1. Club records
2. Ladies tracks
3. Street tracks for nikkas
4. West coast tracks
5. South features

Look back at Jay’s albums and you see that in every one. Maximize the amount of potential album buyers, gets you on radio everywhere, feeds the streets and clubs, plus ladies fukk with some shyt.

Check your own video...you always be number 2!

Yeah, Not a boss...and realizing just now he called ma$e shyt, haha. I missed that double entendre and I been reciting that part for 20 years.

Its amazing that Ma$e was poppin for 20 months and people still be talking about him 25 years later. (I know mase was in Children of Corn and with Lox and other shyt in mid 90's coming up)...It really shows how great he was in that time period. With the death of BIG on the East its like Mase came in and was I got this shyt and helped everyone. Tony Yayo just did an interview with Vlad and at the end was like I always wanted a Flex freestyle after I heard Mase. Mase has new label Rich Fish and the hottest in the game right now Favio is signed to it... For such a short time he was in the spot light its amazing almost three decades later he still thought of and talked about so much.

I heard this interview where Camron was saying I don't get it I come out in 1997 and im here consistently till 2018 and people support Mase when Mase came out in 1997 and left in 1999 he gets the love. Charisma is a hell of a drug
Good posting bro 😎

@JustCKing

What do you think about Ma$e's Harlem World album?

Where do you rank it among the greatest albums of the 90's and where do you rank among the greatest Hip Hop albums of all time?

Harlem World is one of my favorite albums ever. I still listen to it pretty regular. I don't know where it ranks, but it is definitely underrated largely due to the whole shiny suit era. It had a nice balance of everything.

Reach. All these people were coming up and around each other at the same time.

No they weren't. When Mase was working with The Neptunes virtually no MC's were working with them. Same goes for Kanye and Just. We weren't seeing Southern MC's on East Coast albums like that. For all this to just become common place on Jay albums and even Roc albums definitely isn't a reach.

Mase would've been the perfect artist for the Roc in the early 00s

Mase couldn't keep his dikk in his pants, messed up his relationship with Dame, beefed with Jay, got ran outta Harlem...in an alternate reality, Mase signs with Rocafella anytime between 2000 & 02 and that would've been crazy :snoop:
