Show is DOA if they use the Shepard storyline.

Mass Effect is a huge universe/world.

There is no reason NOT to tell an original story like what we are seeing with Alien Earth and Fallout.

Breathe bruh... breathe... sheppard story is THE focal point of Mass Effect... :beli: everyone knows this. making an all new character from another focal point through all the story parts may work but.....:manny: would anyone here want that?

And Ellen Ripley is the main character of the Alien franchise yet here we are watching a TV series about Alien which has NOTHING to do with the character. :comeon:

Mass Effect is also an RPG game where the player chooses how the story goes and how far certain characters go. You cannot adapt the shepherd storyline without disgruntling the fanbase.

Fallout told an original storyline which respected the elements of the game and was a success with fans and casuals.

Halo tried to adapt the games storyline and was HATED by the fans for deviations and had NO interest from casuals and is now CANCELLED

Where do they set the story? Pre or post reaper invasion?

I think definitely pre reaper invasion and years before the game takes place. They need to have enough room to tell an original story with hardly any limitations.

Again, Fallout story was Fallout 3 with some changes here and there.

The overall story in Fallout 3 the main character leaves the vault to find "their" father.

father held in suspended animation in another vault, released to purify the Potomac river= Game

Father held captive for tool to bring power to the Los Angeles wasteland= show

To be fair, Fallout isn't really the best example since it's an exploratory sandbox game first and foremost. Sure it has some elements of a basic bytch plot but who are we kidding lol, nobody cared or remembers that shyt from 17-years ago w/o a Google search.

"Here's a dog, watch out for giant cockroaches, now go find your dad or something." *player proceeds to get distracted killing raiders, ghouls, mutants, robots and aliens for the next 80 hours*. Then we find the dad or join the brother hood of steel or i dont fukkin know, but i had a great time:mjlol: <--that's all i remembered from 17 years ago.

^for a game like that, there are no stans of the protagonist. The most important thing is just getting the world right and telling a great story with whatever protagonist you do make-up.

Now, games like Witcher, Halo, Mass Effect, Horizon Zero Dawn, Final Fantasy, Gears of War, etc that have a distinct if not iconic protagonist(s) but also has (like with Fallout, or the Aliens franchise) a very unique world/lore that can honestly sell itself... i dunno; gotta play it by ear. I personally think they're going to cast a female Shepard. But i'd probably be more intrigued if they did an original story and cast, since i don't really need to have the trilogy retold to me.
