I honestly don't know what can be done, you can say make the purchase of guns more difficult, but people who already have them can still use it to cause havoc and too many illegal guns are out there to even contain at this point. Obviously, you can't predict when mass shooting's like this happen so extra security won't do any good because of the unpredictable nature.
