5 dead after shooting in northwest Phoenix house; responders battled fire to pull out victims
Five people were dead, including the shooter, after shots were fired at family members at a house near 51st Avenue and Cactus Road on Tuesday morning, Phoenix police said.
Four people were found dead at the scene. A girl about 12 years old, who had been transported to a hospital for treatment, died of her wounds, police said.
The shooter was a son and brother in the family, Phoenix Police Sgt. Trent Crump said. Crump initially said that the shooter had killed himself but confirmed in a later update that he had been killed by police officers.
