funny you mentioned GTA, i fully believe video games are playing a MUCH bigger part in the desensitization of shootings than people care to admit. Say what you want about japanese/chinese companies doing "too much" in terms of controlling content over there, they do a good job of keeping violence in a fantasy environment so the general public don't get any ideas about doing shyt IRL

nope, ogrish. faces of death & other sites had gory videos on their frontpage.. easily found on p2p networks like kazaa etc. the only real difference between now and then is that more sites support streaming content and more videos are recorded due to the ubiquitous use of smartphones so maybe thats why you think it's different from years ago.

In what world did the average person walking the street know wtf a p2p network was? Way less people were savvy with computers than today. That's part of the reason nikkas were album to make a killing selling burned cd and DVDs, all of that p2p shyt was still new to the large majority of people back then.

In 2025 someone's grandparent and someone's child could both be looking at stuff on X on their phones, a site a HUGE percentage of the population has scrolled through. It's way more mainstream.
