Again, critics warned them of what the possible effects of those cuts could be. Those points were dismissed, but NOW public safety realities and perceptions have forced people to reexamine their previous stances.

All criminal justice reform is a work in progress, so trial and error will continue to occur. Catchy slogans that you have to explain are not it, though. Clear headed practical reform is what has to happen.
