I still remember when Luke was talking about being on tour with all the big east coast acts and they were all pretty much getting ganked and he had more money than all of them while having a fraction of the radio play. Thats why southern and west coast cats always rocked with each other because they were the only ones getting money and had relatable lifestyles and both were getting hated on by east coast slave rappers and their culture vulture masters.

Dudes were selling millions of records and still broke while southern and west coast cats would sell 10k albums out the trunk and make more money then the cats you saw on tv

True indeed....

the East Coast bias was too real back then and it was mostly some WILLIE LYNCH shyt being promoted by the JEWISH BOSSES of NYC who brainwashed NYC blacks into not interacting or doing business with thier southern and western black brethren..

THEY WANTED US DIVIDED!!

WBLS..KISS FM of NYC never showed 2 live Crew any love....

hell I remember when THE GETO BOYS got boos at the NEW MUSIC SEMINAR in Manhattan. ..,,

it was a sad state of ignorance at that time

cause it was so petty considering we as OGs Failed to realize the common traits and bonds we shared

for example a lot of people didn't realize that turntable legends DJ SCRATCH of EPMD outta NYC is the cousin of Orlando based legendary spinner DJ MAGIC MIKE!

Also one of the pioneers of ATL rap in the early 80s MC SHY D was related to AFRIKA BAMBATTA....

ITS SAD HOW MUCH MORE CREATIVITY AND MONEY WE MISSED OUT ON CAUSE OF SELF HATRED AND IGNORANCE

Which is why i have no sympathy for the abysmal state of NYC music, they did it to themselves. Hot 97 is literally 6 months to a yr behind Atlanta radio stations lol.

That's why like Red and Meth doing songs with cats like Mc Eiht and Spice One was dope to me back then would have liked to see more collaborations between regions especially when the regional sounds were at their most distinctive, after No Limit blew it became cool to embrace southern cats too ,P deserves a biopic for that alone

Stole his artist publishing, he's a vile mothafukka!! Young bleed how's you do dat there, chopper style, all those boys shyt. He bit everyone style, got mad that he wasn't popular, and led a crusade too end the same rap that made him rich. Did pimp c so wrong, stole hot boyz, from cash money, the nikka wasn't saying wodie until cash money made it popular, that's like stealing the Dunn language!! Mothafukka even jacked lil bow wow swag, McDonald's vs McDowell ass nikka. Too many fake 2pac sounding dudes on his label including him, and c murder. You would have only thought he had 2kids instead of 10.. Say what you want about dame and jay, they never took their artist publishing.. He even threatened too leave priority if they signed cash money, there's enough money for everybody especially back then. Lies, and makes up his own history. Extremely jealous, and insecure. The type too down others to build himself up.
I know someone who had close ties to nolimit during their heyday and some of the things you're saying is true.

But what you're missing is P gave a lot of guys opportunities to do something with themselves. He didn't steal his artists publishing, he took a percentage like any boss, gave them huge advances and basically let them create their own album anyway they wanted. He was the anti suge knight, jprince, and diddy. He didn't want to be involved with anyone who didn't wanna be apart of his label and let them walk. He betted on himself and took a distribution deal and made himself a multi-millionaire.

On the other end, I think he's a shell of himself and will do anything to stay in the spotlight these days like, dancing with the stars, becoming a born again Christian and denouncing the N word, becoming an undertaker and literally trying bury the N word with the naacp only to go back to making the same music he was bashing, biting off tyler perry with the stage plays, etc.. I mean I can go on for paragraphs discussing all the shady, cringeworthy shyt he has done SINCE his NL heyday but he's doing it to create some form of revenue for himself which isn't working, and that shyt has taken away from his legacy because it reeks of desperation. All in all, you can't take away what he did from 96-99 though.

I know he's talking about doing a biopic of himself but I think the success of that straight outta Compton movie may have been the worse thing to happen to hiphop. Everyone wants to do a movie based on their life now.

it's sad...cause years ealier at the SOURCE awards in 95 ...ANDRE 3000 had to voice his discontent for the fukkery that was occuring with NYC shytting on the south.....

he did it from an artistic standpoint....which NYC wasn't trying to hear:

tumblr_neby2fmTRP1rbppffo1_500.gif

while Master P. ...2 years later did it from a Entreprenural Standpoint......money talks and it got them subway c00ns to listen :mjpls:

Ee15UotvRbObXFfKadXG_master_P_bout_it_bout_it.jpg

That's why i laugh when i hear psuedo-hip hop heads from NYC speak of "The Culture"..blah blah BULLSHYT :camby:

P saw what the real game was in NYC Radio...and realized the GAME is to be SOLD not TOLD..

Cause nobody was trying to tell the SOUTHERNERS nor the WEST COAST G's..jack shyt about how to create a buzz on the east coast

i was working in the industry at the time, when it was well known that Master P. plunked down some major bread to a certain coalition of deejays headed by Funkmaster Flex that got the ball rolling for P to penetrate the East Coast market....

which is why Master P. became the first NON-TRI STATE (ny,nj, conn) ...artist to claim the NO. 1 spot on Angie Martinez infamous countdown on HOT 97 ..when Bout It Bout it made it's way to the Hot 97 playlist....

this is documented on the intro special feature to the "IM BOUT IT" dvd release

so yes i do agree...MASTER P is worthy of a bio....more like a documentary detailing how he was able to provide a healthy bridge between COMMERCE and ART which was never seen before prior to his NO LIMIT brand.

P tried to do plays :ohhh:

I'm not surprised he went after that Tyler Perry/ David E. Talbert lane.

P will bite ANYTHING he thinks he can make a buck off of :snoop:

People mentioned some of the shots P was taking. Here are a few likely candidates of who he was talking about.

@ 4:50 mark on.

These are both from within the last few months. The Rick Ross shot may have been because P was working with Fat Trel but Trel was saying he wasn't eatin' and P said he had to keep grinding first. Trel is down with MMG too. I aint seen nothing from Alley Boy and P recently, are they still tight?
