N95 and The Heart Part 5 charted higher than anything Wayne's done since 2016, and that's leaving out Not Like Us, Euphoria, and Meet the Grahams.

Then you have Like That, Die Hard, Silent Hill, Family Ties, and the whole Black Panther soundtrack.

Funny thing is that Wayne's biggest hit of the last decade was Mona Lisa where he got that Kendrick stimulus.
Charted then flopped off the charts after two weeks.

Carter 5 had Uproar that was an actual hit with staying power. It was bigger than Mona Lisa.

Kendrick last album had no true hits. First week charting positions don’t count.

They not like us was the song of the summer; it really makes sense honestly.
Somg is played and honestly, it wasnt that hot

But this is what I said before… dude barely pops unless he's taking shots.

By the time Superbowl comes everyone gonna be over thie shyt. Bad choice but not shocking. Don’t think these execs actually know wtf theyre doing

Kendrick is the better choice for headlining a musical event in terms of marketability, Lil Wayne isn't as marketable or that big of a draw anymore as he was during his prime and notable years (2008-2013/14), as crazy as it may sound but he's kinda an afterthought in the grand scheme of things.

Now, him being a performer at the event is a different story, but serving as a headliner? Nah, Wayne fell off in terms of being a big draw for a musical event such as the Superbowl Halftime Show; if this was Wayne during the ''08-'14 run, it'd be different, but nowadays, people are not thirsting or going to “pushing and shoving” to hear Lil Wayne.
Some of ya'll really live in a bubble if you think Kendrick Lamar is more marketable for a global event than lil fukking Wayne. :russ: Like seriously. I bet some of ya'll think Ja Morant is more known worldwide than Lionel Messi. :russ:

You had to reach back to 2018 to find ONE song by Lil Wayne that was an "actual hit".

Kendrick has had 10 songs since 2017 that charted for 15 weeks or more.

Kendrick hasn’t had a non-beef hit since the black panther album. Wayne hasn’t since Carter 5. Both dropped in 2018.

Either way Lil Wayne has way more hits than Kendrick Lamar. Lol.

Since when did they choose acts based on popularity?

Usher hasn’t had a hit album in more than 15 years 😂

Being a "beef hit" doesn't make it less popular lol.

Lil Wayne's last huge album was 2011. Since then, Kendrick's had four albums sell over a million plus the biggest beef (commercially) in rap history.

Yeah, Wayne has more hits over his career, but the average casual sports fan who isn't into hiphop ain't checking for his old shyt like that. While Kendrick's hits are at the top of people's thoughts. And total numbers is meaningless when you only have 15 minutes to fill anyway. Dr. Dre packed in shyt like crazy and they still only performed 10 songs. If Kendrick went all the way through on Not Like Us that's 1/3 of the set already.
