I wouldnt call him a snake oil salesman. He seem like he gets an idea and instead of letting market research tell him its wack, he starts shyt and never mentions it again when its not hot. the music industry and wrestling are pretty close except for the fact that the music industry can hide kayfabe wayyyy better than wrestling.
hip-hop in this day and age could easily surpass the wwe, because its mostly production value. the music and theme songs in the wwe is mid and downright terrible in aew
wwf/early wwe theme music was dope af tho.
off production value alone in hip-hop, it could rival any promotion. then take into account the mic skills of any random nikka u know, and the angles, heat, and pops would be thru the roof with minimal help from the writers.
i hit up less than 2 ppl in my immediate hood circle and get u better theme music than most wrestling promotions
