Being a fan of the Tank since Bout it Bout it. I was happy seeing P and No Limit finally getting their due in 1998. P was blowing up like a muthafukka off Make em Say Ugh, He had put out I got tha Hook Up(which was a big deal at the time), Signed Snoop Dogg(which was a shocker) and released stellar albums from Fiend, C-Murder, Mean Green, along with the I Got tha Hook Up Soundtrack. I was thinking cotdamn when P drop his album, This was gonna be the icing on the cake.
I remember seeing Snoop all over the album, A appearance from BONE(Which was surprising) 40 Water, UGK, and thought this maybe a classic. I check out the album for the first time that summer and I wasn't really pleased.
First thing that bugged me was that this nikka P was going through a identity crisis. One minute he Tony Montana, the next he trying to be like Pac, then he sounding like a Itallian, I mean I was like

Production wise, It sounded like Beats by the Pound were pretty much showing a decline and the beats didn't stick as hard as on previous projects

But the positives were Snoop Dogg sounding alive again on most of the songs. He sounded right at home rhyming on Snitches and Mama Raised Me. I also loved the gems UGK dropped on Ghetto Life. Especially when Pimp said: The Woman's polluted so it aint safe to make babies
I would listen to songs here and there but within the past year or 2 alot of songs I didn't like grew on to me. I'd probably give it a 7 outta 10 now.
What yall think?
