Wan got the crown right now. If we were doing a poll or tourney of modern horror directors, he’d be my number one.
No doubt. Agreed.
For me historically, it would be Craven and for contemporary, it's definitely Wan. He has yet to put out a disappointing project.
I mean look at his roster (with the except of The Nun, which I don't expect him to hit 100 for all, but that wasn't a flop considering). His talent for this is undeniable.
I was just looking up his movies - I didn't realize the extent of his filmography. Dude has put out good product since damn near 2007.
this was his too :ohhh:

Eh, I don’t know.

I’ve only seen three or four Hooper movies, I’ve seen pretty much all the Wan movies. I think Wan owes Hooper a lot in terms of influence on the game. I’ve heard Hooper has a lot of shytty movies, but I also know that a lot of what Wan has done is not very self-inspired work, even if it is quality on a fundamental scale.

If I had to call it I would give it to Hooper because I love TCM part 2 so much

I don’t think it’s a crime wan is influenced so much by those who came before him. What makes it dope tho is he builds on all that and adds polish to it. Even with saw, he was doing a rift on Se7en but it felt original because of his visuals. I’m anxious to see what he does with this new flick
