Wan is a studio franchise horror expert. Zombie is a musician who was able to parlay his roots into horror films. Rob Zombie is more of a cult horror following, Wan is more mainstream. Rob is underrated because his films are not for the average person to digest. People don't appreciate his crude and direct approach to filmmaking. Wan is more horror friendly while Rob is more hardcore horror. Which understandably won't appeal to soft marshmallow type viewer watchers like @Jello Biafra who seems to hate any movie that is not perfectly crafted for his interest level. They have to be spoon fed their horror bc anything having shock value will ultimately distract and disturb them outside of their comfort level. Viewers like Jello prefer the "R.L. Stine" kiddie koated adult versions of horror bc they cringe at in your face evil.
Esquire magazine agrees that Rob Zombie is underrated.

If there are only 2 movies that you know out of Rob Zombie's collection then you have no business judging his movies.
I know them and have them all but they're mostly not that good

Horror movie comparisons, only. For the sake of fairness.
He needs to keep his wife out of his movies, and now he can't rely on Sid anymore. 3 from hell was pretty bad too and I liked Devil's Rejects but SHE was awful in that movie, she tried her best to pull of a Harley Quinn but she ain't it chief. She was also the worst part of Lords of Salem and it was bad enough as is.

His wife was making movies before her, so how is she the threshold for comparison. And the naturalness of her in roles is what makes the movie - we don't need a seasoned veteran action in RZ movies.. that's the whole entire point !!! She not play up to a role - her and Captain Spaulding made that move what it is. That white trashy underground horror along with the grunge.If you want your family-friendly sanitized fantasy horror then go watch Marvel or DC comics movies. That's like comparing Ironman to Michael Myers or Black Panther to Candyman.
