I'm glad she's calling out the delusion on both sides. People always forget the most important part when they have all of these requirements and preferences. That person also has to like you back. I blame the folks around them gassing them up and making excuses instead of just telling them the truth on where they truly stack up in the dating market. But people would rather be miserable, lonely, and a victim instead of just getting with the person that compliments them.

see this a lot among "big fish small pond" men.
men who do relatively well - corporate professional or small business owners in middle america but think they swimming with the sharks let alone the whales. perceptions all out of wack. cuz they do well in the lake they're in, they think they can command a big fish in a big pond and its delusional, just like the women. the problem with this generation is group psychosis of grand delusions.

I don't know about her take. This is actually a big issue for physicians specifically because they work such crazy hours while their spouses are at home and the spouses also cheating at home. It's a very similar dynamic to military men. Both types of men are in a position where they don't control their time.
The best case scenario for both parties is that they're with their wives at work (fellow doc, nurse, fellow officer, fellow enlisted, etc) . Alternatively , Even if the wife doesn't have wandering eyes I guarantee you all her male neighbors , all the male friends in the various clubs she occupies her time at, and all the stay at home dads in the city will be plotting on her.
And the wife can have the absolute best intentions but there's an emotional vulnerability when she's having a localized crisis at home, but Johnny is deployed to Afghanistan or Dr. jack has had three deaths in a row in his Ward so he cant pick up the phone. There are predatory dudes who wait for moments like this to pounce. Ideally she would have a job of her own to occupy her hours, or as I previously mentioned she works with her husband.
My take is physicians and military men are in too much of a rush to pursue long-term relationships. If they waited a few years until both parties were promoted and stable enough to have free time, then they can have these relationships without having to police their spouse.
