Exactly, I'm not thinking in terms of contention. Let Pryor develop if he's really gonna be the answer, get one more vet QB for cheap and rock with that. I want this team to have an honest rebuild project for once. The defense needs to be addressed from top to bottom. When a QB worth the time comes out hopefully we'll be in position to draft them and have a strong, young, hungry defense to help him in the coming years.

He'd rather go sit on the bench of a contending team and collect a pay check without having to jump out there into the fire.

Back in '05, he looked like he was on his way to being one of the top 3-5 QB's in the entire league.
I still think he can be a B- level QB.I'd like to see him go to the Cardinals and play with Fitz.That could be the best receiving corps he's ever played with.
But I think Carson is ready to settle for that semi retirement/ back up role

Absolutely right. Pryor needs a lot of work on his mechanics... people getting hyped off his ability to extend the play with his feet. I went through youtube trying to find that interception he threw in the red zone that was a fukking duck but all they have are his "accurate lob passes"

All they are going to do is defer his cap hit for the 1st season and tack on another year. obviously mckenzie knows flynn from GB. given what's currently in college in terms of QBs, I'm not opposed to adding a year and making his cap hit friendly in 2013.

Not a bad pickup. Would have preferred T-Pry to get his chance, but he is still young and still developing. McKenzie knows Flynn best and knows what he can do. 
Whatever it takes to get rid of Palmer and his 
contract I'm all for it. And now that means the Raiders don't need to draft a QB now and can just focus on rebuilding the secondary through the draft.
