The fukk is “wokeism” you dweebs making up words again?Pretty muchAll these people are actors/actresses playing a lead role in an entertainment series.
Frankly, it’s not their fault most are too stupid to realize it.
wokism is a valid and legit enterprise and one that should be defended.
racists and bigots running out of places to hide.
I love it.
How ‘new’?This channel is in some ways and outlet for a clique of people who have fallen out of favor with the “new left.”
There are parts of it that are valid, and there is also a ton of bullshyt mixed in. There are impressive peoe attached to wokeism like Ta-Nehisi Coates and then there are hacks like Ibram Kendi that bring next to nothing to the table.

There’s been a turn towards being more “woke” or aware of intertwining biases in the past 6 or so in popular culture. There’s a group of people like Matt who feel a way whenever that energy is turned towards one of their friends or just spend an unnecessary amount of time whining about it. It’s like they don’t realize the contrarian caricatures they’ve become. They often try to hide it behind data and journalism but it’s really just annoyance that people are finally saying something about micro aggressions and the sort after years of feeling like they had to be quiet to keep shyt moving. In that world they got to be the good guys because they weren’t Republicans and were on the “right” side of cultural issues. They don’t really know how to handle a world where your resume doesn’t protect you from being criticized. It’s like those dudes afraid to talk to women at work because of #metoo, and think that it’s all gone too far.How ‘new’?
I agree tho
You’re white, aren’t you? I bet you recommend John McWhorter and Glenn Loury as “one of the good ones” right? There are parts of it that are valid, and there is also a ton of bullshyt mixed in. Who is saying it makes a difference. People have different motivations behind their criticism. This is how it works for a lot of people. It's not just what's being said, it's who's saying it.
Not me though.
OK fukk nikka. i've PROVEN i'm black on here, go back to sucking white conservative think tank cock tho.Unlike you my Indian friend, I am actually Black.

this is where the money is, sadly. The anti-woke crowd is wasting their talent and time, that goes for both right and left leaning critics. I think wokeism is generally shallow and impotent, but seeing otherwise talented people waste so much of their prime years fighting it is unfortunate.
Transcript: Ezra Klein Interviews Tressie McMillan Cottom
The impact of wokeness and cancel culture is discussed throughout this interview with Tressie McMillan Cotton. Tressie is one of my favorite intellectuals even though we probably disagree on several issues, as she showcases range and depth throughout her work.
If "wokeness" is being used as a catchall for Critical Race Theory, Intersectionality, and general "Identity Politics" then I would also recommend Jennifer C. Nash's work criticizing intersectionality.
But again the issue with wokeness is the crowding out effect it has had on the overall racial discourse. Pro and Anti wokeness conversations dominate and crowds out discussions of:
These are spaces that generally don't fit into the wokeness discussions, but are important.
- The Racial Achievement Gap
- The Network Gap
- The Black Marriage Gap
- Intraracial Class Issues
Wokeness was a legitimate social activity that came out of a new social media age that denotes awareness and education regarding racism and related issues. It was then subsequently weaponized by it's political and philosophical nemeses who are adept at twisting labels and words as insults: liberal, progressive, socialist, communist, racialist, social justice (warrior). Whenever people talk about "wokeness" it's probably being used in a derogatory way these days.
It's another way to stop black people from socially talking about issues. It's to shame young black people who are aware of racism and it's effects.
It's insulting because there is plenty of literature that's been written about black people across the board on every issue over a century and a half, but if you define your opponent in just a few demeaning ways you can hand wave all their concerns.
This is a very common tactic that is employed against black people, especially by American conservatives who have become especially talented at reducing black issues to a point of nonsense.
