To be fair, when I read the first comment, it sounds like he's being facetious.
He does that a lot to show the absurd way a lot of men think on certain issues with respect to how we approach women and other issues.
The fact that you reacted that way is how one should react but is also how a lot of men think.
Its like he's saying the quiet part out loud and in doing so revealing the absurdity, which is the aim.
To the second comment, whatever is a man's personal preference is theirs.
