And the Cavs are trying their best to avoid switching bigs onto Curry, which is why they're blitzing the screen with Thompson and having him recover to his man. The Rockets kept switching on picks and their bigs would get hit with a size up, and splash from 3. The Cavs are making him take contested threes for the most part, Cleveland had been the best team defending the 3 in the playoffs. He was off, but he had only 2-3 really clean looks last night.

I know you're a big Blatt guy but I think you're looking for reasons to give him more credit. The Cavs are playing good defense on Steph but a lot of it has just been on him (mind you it's only one game, in Game 1 he was fine)... their game plan isn't anything we shouldn't expect the MVP of the league to be able to handle. We'll see how it transpires going forward though.

The team is in the finals tied 1-1, they've been without their 2nd and 3rd best players for the majority of the playoffs, if you can't give Blatt credit at this point I don't even know what to say. The Cavs gameplan on defense has been sound so far.


Curry is a 40% three point shooter, if he makes 2 of those 5 clean looks you're talking about he's 7-23 and the Cavs have still done a great job on him
