Matthew probably never respected the father. And as far as general public recognition, using the Knowles last name would definitely help. Beyonce goes by Knowles-Carter.

Probably not. Solange seems like a pure headache, got married to dude when she was 17
But perhaps he’s like many of the rich kids tryna act like he isn’t related to them, like he’s doing it himself. When this isn’t the case. But still didn’t wanna be “ah that’s beyonces nephew” “the Beyoncé nephew model”. Specially adding it just for that fact.
As for Matthew not getting the recognition, I guess it’s cause
1. he’s not all in the videos like say Dame, until recently and that’s not in a good way. And that’s 15 years after working with Beyonce.
2. Manager is a behind the scenes job unless you work hard to promote yourself. Like Tina promotes herself and she was not even a manager, so she’s a celebrity.
Like who is Madonna’s manager? Bruce Springsteen? Metallica? Of course they are probably known in the industry, but not like the average person knows them.
Also i guess that it’s also a lot of recency bias. As of today Beyonce has managed herself longer than he managed her. So people unfairly tend to focus on recent shyt. Specially when you like mentioned didn’t promote yourself and be all in the videos
