Airlines managed to fly out 30,000 tourists in the past 36 hours.

Maui's police chief pled with people to be patient and don't try to force their way back into their neighborhoods. He asked people to respect the "hallowed ground." I'm afraid to hear at tomorrow's press conferences how many bodies they recover.

Honestly with how tipsy turvy it is with that economy, being so nonsensically expensive only because people lustfully want to vacation their and sit on beaches, I pray they can actually rebuild properly and swiftly
sad truth is foreign investors couldn't wait to see this shyt happen. its gonna get rebuilt *quick* but it'll never be local again

Terribly sad for the lives lost and affected. I wonder how long it’s going to take to restore the infrastructure.

Hawaii’s microclimates are crazy. Each island has a rainy region (Hilo on the big island is one the rainiest places on earth) and they also have really dry regions, like where Lahaina is.
This.

We have beaches, Mediterranean climates, deserts, rainforests, swamps, and snow all less than an hour away from each other. People who aren't aware can run into fatal problems.
