Rondo is my favorite player but he'll be 31-33 years old when we are relevant again and his game might not age well once he loses his athleticism.

If the Celtics trade him I'd prefer it to a team that will suck (even with him) then to Dallas where he'll pair up with Dirk/Dwight. Trading him to Utah for Burke/Kanters would be my ideal move.

Every year we hear about Rondo being traded. Most of these rumors are started by the media or teams that are not the Celtics. This is the first time where Rondo being traded will likely happen. But, who do the Mavs have to offer? Don't they only have like 5 guys under contract.

Dirk: No way Cuban lets him go
Marion: Nope. Unless the Celts get multiple picks and Mavs take back contracts.
Wince::pachaha:
Collison and Roddy: :ehh: maybe.

Ainge will always listen to offers for any player. But he won't just trade guys for the sake of it. The Celtics need to be compensated.

The Celtics don't have any bad contracts left to get rid of. It's not like they're allowed to have a 10 million dollar payroll.

It would basically be a scenario where Dallas misses out on Dwight/Paul and then looks to the trade market.

It'd have to be Marion's contract, Larkin, and a ton of first rounders... Probably have to take on Gerald Wallace and/or Courtney Lee as well.

Boston's mentality would basically be that Rondo is good enough to keep Celtics either in the playoffs, or close enough that they'd have no chance at Wiggins.

At the top.
Boston basically abandoning ship and rolling with the tank on this one.
Even if the Mavs manage to get Rondo, thats still not enough for them to compete out west. If somehow they get Howard as well ..that would make things a lot more interesting.
