Terry and Barea were not primary defenders on LeBron. I know it's funny to talk about that one possession Barea defended LeBron but that's not what happened in the series. The Mavs had a gameplan they zoned LeBron heavily and threw multiple looks at him mostly Kidd/Marion/Stevenson, the Heat didn't have shooters around LeBron who was going through a shooting slump himself and his postgame wasn't where it needed to be which is why he struggled in the series. LeBron and Kobe are different players with different strengths and weaknesses which require different gameplans which is why the '04 Pistons had Kobe held to 22/3/4 on 38% shooting by baiting him into chucking over length and double teams.
Also, my nikka we're comparing him to the greatest to play the game...
In a vacuum yes Kobe was dominant. In the playoffs was he Hakeem in '94 dominant? Was he Shaq in '00 dominant? Was he Jordan in '91 dominant? Was he LeBron in '12 dominant? Was he Duncan in '03 dominant?
No, he wasn't at any point. This is what you Kobe stans don't understand, it is not an insult to Kobe he was just never on that level as a singular force through a playoff run.
