Did you not watch the 2015 Finals where he was GS' best player? 2016 Finals he was subpar, but that was mostly due to his injury and the fact the Cavs forced the ball outta of his hands all the time and forced players like Barnes to beat them.

Max is a casual and Lebron is a casual fan's concept of the best player of all time. Fast, strong, jumps high, dunks hard, blocks shots.

He's also the slow, unathletic white guy's concept of a player they would love to play with because he would pass them the ball in a pickup so they can shoot a set shot. As opposed to Kobe, who wouldn't even pick them to play let alone pass them the ball. That's why they defend him so hard
