For Iman Shumpert, Cleanthony Early and Amare Stoudamaire's expiring contract...

His logic...The Lakers are going to be a lottery team anyway next year..No free agents on any level want to join the organization right now.. Might as well go for a top 4 pick while clearing the books for the summer of '15..You can see if Shumpert improves and is worth resigning and let Early gun his way into a comfort zone as an NBA scorer..

Kobe can reunite with Phil and Derek Fisher, join with Melo like he wanted to, play in a bigger market than L.A. and be in the mix for a playoff run in the wide open East...Kobe gets to play in the triangle and not have the stress of being the 1st offensive option..He's always said Madison Square Garden is his favorite building to play in...

Seems like it can be a short term win for the Knicks and a long term win for the Lakers...

Knicks and Lakers fans would you take this deal?

Terrible move for the Knicks :heh:

Type of trade Isaiah Thomas would have made...

Stop right there...

Ppl need to stop pretending everything that happens in the NBA is about competition.

Ppl ain't comin' to Staples to see Iman Shumpert and Amare.

Kobe puts butts in the seats.

Even if the Lakers did that and I see why wouldn't that negate the loyalty contract...besides I think the Knicks rather try to get younger free agents next off-season.

I don't even know if Kobe would waive his ntc.

That would make Kobe an EOL bus. A transit bus usually spends a majority of it's life at one depot, or maybe two. At the end of it's life it's sent somewhere totally random on the other side of town and used as a spare or school tripper. These buses are shells of their former selves. Hakeem Olajuwon was an EOL bus and Shaq too, even though he has been everywhere his damn self. Karl Malone as well. Kobe needs to finish up in LA as a Laker. Going anywhere else.....I don't know, I don't want him to have that Olajuwon in Toronto experience.
