I understand that. The reason I brought it up was because I don't believe Kobe is leaving LA. Under any circumstance. That man cares about his legacy, and a chunk of that legacy is playing his entire career in the same uniform. Yea, he wants that 6th ring, but not at the expense of leaving LA. That's my opinion.
I hear you but the rules on what determines "legacy" are being re-written before our very eyes..

Nobody feels that Marino is better than Montana and Peyton because they tried to win with different jerseys.. I feel that train of thought is archaic..And wasting your last decent years on a lottery team that's a laughing stock seems to be just as big a hit to "legacy" as leaving...

I agree that its a waste of time to waste away. But Kobe's old school. I think he's ready to go down as the captain of this ship.

Kellerman does the show locally and 90% of the Lakers fans said they should do the trade

:manny:

It's a huge swath of Laker fans that are absolute idiots. Kobe's legacy would be tainted going from GOAT franchise to them NY knickas its no way Kobe allows for it.

Guess no one told him not to drink that LA water. Got him all fukked up.

1 yr with an injury prone player>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>2yrs with an injury prone player

AND we'd have to give up young pieces too? :camby:

Call a 35 yr old player with more playoffs minutes than over half the league injury prone brehs....

What "old school" superstar players have ever willingly gone out on a lottery team with an inept front office?

That's not old school.. That's someone with no options....

The Bulls would make more sense for Kobe in almost EVERY way, and they could have offered a better deal to LA

Respect Kobe...hope he returns to form, but why would we ever assume responsibility for his Lakers retirement package?

Maybe in the past, but this is #NewKnickOrder over here :smugzen:
This.

Take a time machine and send Old Kobe back to Isiah Thomas' Knicks.:camby:

But you have that time machine...we'll do it if you send young Kobe to the Knicks:sas2:

How bout we give yall no Kobe at all. :ehh:

Kobe woulda made the knicks relevant and became an NYC institution if he played his whole career with them. Plus he coulda kept close to his Italian roots. Thank God he's with the GOAT franchise instead. :ahh:

It's not about it being a lottery team. It's about it being HIS team. Kobe just signed a massive deal KNOWING that no one was on the roster. He could have gone pretty much anywhere in the NBA, but he signed where he signed knowing that this was a very real possibility that he would be by himself. He's going to do everything he can to win a chip, but more than likely fall short. He's going to go down fighting.
