What "old school" superstar players have ever willingly gone out on a lottery team with an inept front office?

That's not old school.. That's someone with no options....

Not to say Kobe doesn't deserve his deal, but he brought that on himself somewhat. Of course 99.9% of the responsibility falls on the shoulders of the comedy hour that is the Lakers front office but Kobe still signed the deal and I doubt he had no idea about the implications of that cap number.

So he gon sleep in the bed he made. Maybe he doesn't retire after this contract is up, who knows? :yeshrug:

There's no way anybody does this shyt. Lakers would look even dumber for giving Kobe the contract in the first place. The Knicks are going to have a clear cap so why would they want to dirty it up for an extra year with the second year of Kobe's contract.
knicks want cap space for when durant is a fa, and that's when kobe's contract expires. who is there to go after next summer? :mjpls:

Gasol, maybe Munroe. In fact, any big not named Amare, Bargs or Chandler.:smugdraper:

In fact, i'm not even sure that Phil would be willing to throw max $$ for KD. He is a slightly more efficient scorer than Melo, but a drastically worse rebounder/defender.

Wouldnt make sense to have 2 similar players on the team eating up ~60% of your Cap:yeshrug:

Yea, if it turns out Gasol or Monroe aren't viable options, than I'd be willing to trade Amare and JR for Kobe. That deal Kellerman is calling for... :camby:

You saying that the Bulls, who werent willing to pay a healthy Carmelo 75% of asking price, would pay an injured Kobe Max dollars?
