First D'Angelo last year now Maxwell is finally back. All we need now is a Lauryn Album and a new Sade album. Grown Folks Music, Get familiar. I loved "Fire we make" with Alicia. Feeling this one too though I wouldn't say it's better than "Pretty Wings" but it's still good. Also the breakfast club interview was good. Wow, his debut dropped 20 years ago, all his music has aged like fine wine.

Maxwell is a legend but this song sounds mad safe. his last album was mad safe too. hopefully itll sound better with the rest of the songs on the album

funny how Urban Hang Suite was some next level shyt when it came out, then he even went more left field on Embrya, which led to bad reviews and it being completely overlooked commercial outlets (even though in retrospect its probably his greatest work), then he went back to the normal "safe" route with "Now".

I hate everything you said in this post; even though all of it is true. Embrya was too far advanced for most listeners, the lyrics the melodies were multi-layered and nuanced. Plus some of the titles of the songs on that album were like but looking back, I see that he was pushing the genre into places most people weren't comfortable with yet. None of albums sound dated, I wasn't a real fan of BLACK'Summernight, with the exception of Pretty Wings and Bad Habits, I will have to go back and give it another listen.
