How many of those teams saw the physical?
Their opinion is irrelevant without that information.
They didn't have ALL the information until the MRI results came in.
Again this is not the first time a trade was voided after a physical. Texans did it in 2022 and traded up for Will Anderson Jr. In the 2023 draft. No one cared.
Again, they all knew the timetable but without seeing the MRI results that's irrelevant. The doctors saw something they didn't like or could be an issue. Mind you the Cowboys doctor was in on the process and now reports say the Cowboys are out on Maxx. Two teams who saw the test results are out but you're putting more stock into the opinions of nameless personnel who didn't see anything. Tell those GM's to put up two firsts then. Guarantee that anyone trying to trade for him are thanking the Ravens for lowering the price.
They signed Trey because he's the only big time pass rusher who wasn't signed
Obviously they didn't want to use pick 14 on an edge because all of the top guys will be off the board. Their plan was to get a veteran. They traded for Maxx. He failed the physical. They had to sign the next best available edge. It's that's simple and there's no conspiracy. They would've just signed Trey from jump and not gave up the picks if they valued them that much. Teams don't package two 1sts by an impulse decision. They don't make that move if they have second thoughts. Maxx was their guy until the MRI came in.
