OutKast never really had radio friendly singles until Stankonia. BoB and Rosa Parks were not playing on radio like that.

Its crazy how the A&Rs are handling his release so badly, the track listing alone, tells me he has to go after the more mature crowd who likes Nas and Lupe Fiasco.

If I remember correctly LaFace severed ties with Outkast after their first album for that exact reason...

Honestly I put all the blame on Jay Elec, son is just lazy as shyt. It's obvious rap is nothing more than a hobby to him. If he truly loved hip hop, he would atleast release a mixtape for his fans, or tour occasionally.

They put them dudes on a Christmas album before their debut, had them on TLC album after SPCM dropped, it got a Goodie Mob a deal and they dropped Cell Therapy as a single. LaFace Records so Kast moved units.

Jay Elect should be pushed as a Nas or Lupe caliber emcee, he's already shown he is a draw.

Jay refused to sign with him due to creative control. Diddy wanted to dress Jay up in a shiny suite (sarcasm) and direct him into another lane. Jay bounced and quickly signed with jay-Z as he was promised 100% creative control. Jay Elec completed this project as the Chief pilot but Jigga still wants the so called Radio joint to push things into play..

:ehh: with jay e, i can understand the criticism of why he aint givin us no mixtapes :to: only because he has released a handful of songs in the last five year

but traditionally and in any other genre, artists do not owe the fans any mixtapes or free shyt 'for the love of hip hop'. if they are planning on dropping albums, they should put out singles and videos and marketing and promotion (the shyt the coli hates about new artists and calls industry plants)

i also think jay e doesnt drop any mixtapes cause he's lazy as fukk :manny: but artists like nas have dropped like 1-2 tapes in his entire career and lupe hands us these 35 min bullshyt teasers. these guys are album artists

you can say the game changed up but i still believe the fans arent owed free shyt, but a lot of the artists doing it for the fans should definitely be commended

How the fukk can they think a stuttering fat dude with fukked up teeth is gonna have a big single? Jay Elec is NOT a mainstream dude, and Hov had to have known that the minute he signed him. It makes no sense to expect a "Work Out" type song for a dude nearing 40 years old who doesn't give a fukk about radio music.

After listening to his verse on Suplexes Inside of Complexes and Deplexes, how can you predict what this dude is gonna do? It's never been done before in rap music.
