And the fact that its a 15 year old and the first means they can't give him a pass and they have to throw the book at his bad little azz

Lack of one switch growing up leads to another more damaging switch :yeshrug:
For his sake lets hope it wasn’t in the commission of a crime but just a search…:francis:

"Tell your sons and grandsons that switches are illegal and simple possession will get them an automatic federal prison sentence."
so long story short 20, bc modifying a glock with a switch is a fed case as well. In the feds it's 10 years.
(nerd shyt incoming) the feds don't actually charge anyone with that kind of crime. the illegal aspect of a switch is a tax violation - not paying $200 to the atf before taking possession of one. courts have ruled that it's a fifth amendment violation to prosecute people for not paying the tax, since there's no such thing as a glock switch which the tax can be paid on (non-federal licensees can only own machine guns made before may 1986, and switches weren't invented by then), so trying to pay it would constitute testifying against yourself. typically, the feds bring charges like felon in possession of a firearm but sometimes they just have to let violators go, that's why alabama had to pass this law to prosecute on the state level.
