u idiot roy was a trash boxer, as a matter of fact writers were astounded on how he could do everything wrong and still beat the sh1t out of people.

He had super human speed and power in both hands.... he was a beast in his prime, but since he depended so heavily on his athletic skill he never fully developed as a boxer....why u think b hop is still beasting at damn near 50 and roy is getting punished by tomato cans??? he doesnt have boxing skill.

He never had a solid defense either just great reflexes, but when that went so did his ability to evade punishment.
Sorry friend, floyd is better in nearly every way as a boxer.
well it depends on how you define "boxer"

yeah skill wise he wasn't all that, i take floyd or pernell over him and a bunch of others

but if we go by best fighter ever, then its roy...best fighter who happens to be a boxer, is roy

how do you define "boxer" means...

great fighter..but he is nothing, compared to the GOAT, the most athletically gifted, fastest boxer ever, with unbelivable power, the king at 168

agree or disagree

even at a higher weight, Roy was much faster then Floyd
Floyd of course will go down in history as the better fighter because history hated on Roy the same way they was hating on Floyd. But Floyd destroyed everyone he faced in such a way, that ppl can't hate any longer

But Roy, he did the most amazing things I have ever seen in a boxing ring. And him going to heavyweight to take out Ruiz?
Most heroic feat I ever seen in sports. It was david vs goliath. And he dominated
Its sad his career ended because of that.

If Roy was in his prime, and fought Floyd in his prime, but they could have some sort of catch-weight or whatever?
Roy would win on points in a decision. Roy was fast enough to catch Floyd, and quick enough to avoid getting punched "enough"
Plus Roy had more pop in his punches. I dont' even think it would be a touch fight for Roy
I mean, the nikka chased chickens around for christ sake :heh:

Both fighters are in my top 10 all time, and maybe top 5 :ohhh: (not really, but close)
Like, Floyd is my all-time #1. But I don't see him beating Roy in the Fight Night scenario.
Riddikk Bowe in his prime could beat Ali :manny:
Great athlete. Not a great boxer.
Not a great boxer :wow:
Thats like saying Asians are generally not good at math
I've said this line a few times before, but you forced me to unretire it...

That is the stupidest thing I have ever seen written on this website and possibly the entire internet.
I want to frame your post and hang it up in Stimpy's room
You iddddddddddiot :snoop:

Came in here to say this.

Roy was one of the greatest athletes of all time, but when that startd to go away with age he started losing to journeyman. Bhop was still beating credible fighters at damn near 50 due to his skill.

Roy being a horrible boxer:rudy:

You don't beat James Toney nor BHop with just athleticism.

Let's not act like Roy was a slouch when it came to slipping punches. While not as textbook as Floyd or Pernell he was still well above average at that skill and made fighters look stupid when they tried to connect.

Offensively dude was one of the goats.

Roy was simply the most athletically gifted Boxer ever, and the GOAT simple as that

no one could defeat him in his prime at 168, hell he even beat a HW....a HEAVYWEIGHT for the championship
And you don't think he was probably roided up for that...especially when he got bagged a couple years prior?

I loved Roy as a teen...but wouldn't shock me if we found out he was roiding for most of his career.

Is his fight on Saturday even gonna be televised?

Never said he was a horrible boxer.... what happened with the BHop rematch tho when his reflexes and athletic ability started to fade? :mjpls:

If you're teaching someone how to box, would you have them emulate RJJ?
