McGregor knows he will likely get his ass kicked here, he already on the 2nd phase, and that is simply him being a bigger star after the fight. His hope is that he last 12 rounds, and even when he loses the people will give him props for lasting with Mayweather in a sport McGregor is not apart of, he already working on the moral victory and all the endorsements and sponsors coming behind this fight. He wants to be the hero , the David to the goliath. He knows exactly what he doing.

The only risk to Conor is to get knocked out early. In any other scenArio, he comes out on the plus side.

This fight has zero upside beyond money for Mayweather. He has everything to lose by accepting this fight and only money to gain. If I was him, I'd have never taken this fight.
