There has never been an event this big before so it's not just "every time". Tell me how many times the polarization between the two fighters was like this. Tell me how many fighters resemble Floyd in what he brought momentum wise since the era of "money". Boxing won't even be able to maintain THIS level of relevancy much less have another Floyd.
you are talking complete shyt. dont quote me again

Shut the fukk up you dumb ass nikka

Stop being blinded by your favorite sport and realize that without Mayweather, boxing would be as relevant as hockey

Make dumb ass comments brehs. If boxing was irrelevant, then neither would Floyd

Floyd is the shining beacon in a pool full of murk. He is bigger than boxing in its current state

Pacquiao and Broner (in that order) are weaker beacons

4-4.5 million people paid for that fight and most probably came away disappointed like "i just wasted money on THAT." This didn't do anything good for boxing. It just filled 2 mens pockets.

this event was a joke like the superbowl. a bunch of casual fans sitting around who couldnt give a shyt about the fight. They priced out the hard core fans at the mgm. And then you had floyd giving us a boring fight.. the whole thing was a joke
I am tired of this narrative. Manny was suppose to be the aggressor and make Mayweather duke it out. He felt Mayweather wasn't a joke and bytched out. Manny fought safe to not get knocked out. So place your blame on Manny. When Mayweather had to fight, Money May fought.

Gotdamn and people wanted to hotshot this fight back in early 2010. Floyd tried to tell em to build it up and look what happened. How much y'all think the buyrate would've been if they fought in 2010-11?

No way this fight was bigger in 2010. I say it would have done 2.5 - 3 mil at 69.99. Remember, there has been an avalanche of people riding the "he's scared""he's ducking""Pac will take his 0" since 2010. He basically let Pacquiao capture the world's heart over the last 5 years by having them think he was afraid, only to embarrass him on the biggest stage in fight history. All of this momentum would not have been there in 2010. It still would have been a record breaker and the fight itself may have been more action packed, but I don't believe it would have been bigger.

Deontay Wilder seems to be the closest thing to that, its baffling as to why he isn't more popular.

33 wins, 32 knockouts, 0 losses :wow:
I really think he could benefit from PBC on NBC. An American HW with knockout power in both hands could be huge. A few fights on NBC then get the PPV with Klit.

cause he only fought scrubs. hopefully we get to see him fight povetkin. after that, line him up against klitschko. i can see wilder bringing some glory back to the US heavyweight. the problem right now is the lack of marketable fighters in the weight class.
