Mayweather vs Cotto - Official Fight Thread

yall needa rewatch that 5th round ?? that shyt was so lopsided mayweather was killin cotto

mayweather had landed 24 to cotto 12

round 5 of this fight is like round 2 of the ortiz fight the judges were like we gotta give em 1 round. Mayweather got robbed that round (and 1 judge even gave mayweather that round right fully so.. )

but then cotto came out swinging in round 6, and really won that round, it shoulda been 5-1 but the judges had it 4-2 for no real reason.. Its like they feel obligated to give a round to whoever mayweather is boxing just cause.

I remember having that SAME feeling I had when they gave Ortiz round 2. Mayweather landed like 30 , ortiz landed like 7, and they gave ortiz that round get the fukk outta here..

Ive always said if he ever fights pacquiao, and its even relative close (I dont think it will be though, pacquiao cant hang with mayweather in the ring, pacquiao cant handle mayweather boxing style) they gonna give it to pacquiao just to be on mayweather and get him outa boxing or fukk his record up..

I mean even if its REALLY 7-5 mayweather, you know the judges gonna be like 7-5 pacquiao or 6-6 at worst

Yep, But im retracting the 5th round from Cotto (had him winning 3 rounds, now 2)

I watched the replay on my HDTV (I was at the theater for the live viewing), and when you watch closely, he got his ass whooped that 5th. Them flurries wasn't doing a damn thing.

When you watch the slo-mo instant replays, you see that those flurries were nothing but show. I was watching this fight with my whole family.... and EVERYONE excpet me was going for Cotto (we Ricans). They was getting all during the flurries because they wanted our fellow rican to whip PBF's ass......BUT I had to bring they asses down during those replays because you could obviously see that most of those punches PBF either dodged, or they slightly grazed him with no real power or threat behind them.

Same with the Victor Ortiz fight before PBF laid his ass out . Flurries looked real good in fast mode, but when you slow them down and really look at it, ain't none of those punches even touch PBF.

That's what I'm afraid of @ the bolded. I think they gonna purposely give it to Pacquiao (just like they did with the last Marquez fight, IMO ) to purposely fukk up PBF's flawless record, and so that they can have a reason to do a rematch for the $$.

Mayweather need to knock him out, or they will screw him. and it wouldnt even be for $$, just plain ole hate for mayweather.

I know. It's crazy to see just how skilled he really is. He knows how to adapt very quickly too, which is very useful.

That's exactly what I said during the fight I said Cotto is pulling an Ortiz right now because he's frustrated . He thought he could study PBF and stick it to him, but what they don't realize is that PBF knows how to adapt to every fighter he fights. So you go in there thinking he's gonna do what he did last fight, but he's gonna see what you about and then switch it up on you. He wasn't ready for that, so his next option was to try and toss PBF out the ring

Rewatched the fight last night, had it 10-2 Mayweather. Competitive fight but PBF won with a wide margin.

I just watched this fight again(thanks for the links guys) and its crazy how much different a fight comes off watching it live as it happens as opposed to after you can take it in and then watch again...

Some rounds that I thought were close or that Cotto might have won... were completely dominated by Floyd...

Yep watching live I had it 8-4 then I watched it again and I had it 10-2 and the 2 was a little bit of a stretch. Cotto was competitive throughout the fight but he couldnt do enough to actually win rounds

Y'all are silly if you think people in boxing are against Mayweather. The fans might be, but why would the judges want Floyd to lose? He's the biggest draw in the game, he's putting money in a lot of these people's pockets, and the reason he's this huge draw is because he's undefeated.

Floyd loses? That all goes out of the window.
