Wreckin cru started blew up, then broke up dr dre met eazy and we all know that history and they put out the nwa and the posse
So alonzo seen it, like okay, got unknown and slip together and got all the rappers they were working with at the time,eiht and chill met thru dj mike t a blood who eiht messed with and decided form cmw, ant capone was originally in mike t's place, he got fired before the group did anything, and mike t was on board, and was the only gangsta in the group he was a blood.
Alonzo put this out to compete with dre
Everybody on it was techno/disco rappers, unlike the nwa album who had up n coming rappers, like doc, candyman, k-dee,ren and russ parr(bobby jimmy)
Chill and eiht wasnt even bangin back then, then it became a fad, and it was funny mike t was in their hood a known blood and nobody ever did nothing to him, he is the one who brought dj quik's red tapes to tragniew and let eiht hear it. Mike go back to his hood, and all the crips hear eiht playin it all the time, he didnt know gang slang or nothin, i guess trag's og got tired of seein red in the hood and hearin it all the time, and since they was never respected, he got fed up.
They put it in eihts head quik was dissing, you start seein mike t lesser, chill doing a bid after the cmw dropped., eiht caking off albums while chill locked up he get out the money eiht made with cmw and havin cmw name on stuff, chill didnt get a dime, pissed him off they fell off. Since he was the compton in cmw.
After chill got out, you no longer seen cmw's name on eihts album covers. Because, it was a bunch of drama, thru eiht using the name on his albums and have nothing to show for when its time chill to get paid.
Both HARD ASS TRACKS on two of the greatest hood movies ever produced. If I had to go with one, it's gotta be 'Growin Up In The Hood'. Streiht Up Menace is more of a reflective track, but Growin Up In The Hood is just some G shyt. This is why bullshyt ass music of today isn't fukking with the 90's.
