Hammer and Janet are two mofos who are gonna be in their 80's outdancing us all. Michael, too, had he lived. (See "This Is It" if you want to argue otherwise.)
And nearly every mainstream rapper owes Hammer a debt. They all yelled "sellout" back then, but they're all endorsing shyt now. Hell, Snoop is selling shyt w/Martha damn Stewart. Not to mention that Hammer brought gospel into a lot of hip-hop households.
Yeah, he made some missteps, but who didn't? Quit trippin and give that man his flowers. Personally, I think The Funky Headhunter is an underrated album.
