True... just listening/watching interviews from the 90s, 80s and earlier. The ppl were a lot more articulate even if they hadn’t finished school.


Was watching Hip Hop Uncovered last night. Big U was talking about how he grew up playing with Erector sets and learning to work with his hands. And how the OG Rolling 60's earned their rep through martial arts before guns. Not to glamorize it too much cuz I'm sure it wasn't all good, but people just seemed more constructive and disciplined back then.

Seems weird that this didn't translate to the subject matter in his music. Never felt any of his songs were particularly deep.
