Shan is still hurting from that ether he received in the 80's
ehhhhhhhh. i could see a couple of people playing that role instead of Shan.
Kid from Kid N Play is one of them
I will say that the brother needs to start focusing on the future and stop living in the past given the recent tit-for-tat w/ KRS
fresh prince character had way more in common with Play, rather than Kid breh.
and its shan's life. how you gonna tell somebody not to speak on their life? LOL. and aint nobody tryna watch a 50 year old talk about their plans for the future anyway.
Sure its his life but what you not getting is he doesnt have to allow himself define by past situations (ex. The Bridge Battle). The latter of you statement can be question as well no dis.
What has Shan done in say the 5 years in regards to hip-hop compare to his other lyrical comrades of old?:
Masta Ace just drop an album the Falling Season
Kool G Rap drop an album w/ Necro - 2013 and has made numerous appearances recently
KRS - does lectures, and drop an album a year ago called "Now Hear This"
Craig G even resurface and has drop several videos recently and is gearing up for a new album. ((I Rap and Go Home by Craig G on iTunes))
DITC has drop something recently
Grand Puba of brand nubian just drop something recently
.....
no person shouldn't let one little event define them as this is who i am is what im saying. Shan release the KRS diss and he could've capitalize Or start doing some features. The brother last album was in 1990. if he has that same passion in regards to going at KRS relentlessly , then imo he can channel that energy into constructing an EP.
all of these guys are defined by their past breh. it doesn't matter what they say in their interviews. case-in-point, this thread isn't even about the bridge battle. YOURE the one bringing it up.
none of these albums youre listing made a dent. I understand that these guys have bills to pay. but legacy-wise, theyre better off just not releasing anything. aint nobody checkin for no new chit from any of them except their fanatics and people living in the past.
Shan still rocks crowds & gets show money and he prolly got paid for this interview. that's what really matters. him not putting out a bunch of struggle albums at 50 years old is not a bad thing.
you still missing my point breh. whether i bring up the bridge battle as a example. IT DOESNT HAVE TO STOP THERE. Period.
As far as them not making a dent you might want to recheck a couple of those thread and research a couple of sites in terms of that Masta Ace album as well as that D.I.T.C. Compare dude track record to those i mention. He' not putting out a"struggle album" (your words) but can but out a diss towards KRS with an outdate flow. Yeah okay breh
Benny Medina is gay, he used to manage J-Lo - Him, Diddy and J-Lo used to have threesomes together - taking ecstasy in their a$$holes.
A friend of mine is a model and got placed in a few videos courtesy of Benny Medina...however, he couldn't get any further unless he gave up the man-buns to Benny Medina. Benny Medina is one of the most powerful figures in entertainment. J-Lo left him, watched her career go to shambles (especially in that Ben Affleck flick) then ran back to him to stop her ship from sinking.
obviously it doesn't stop there, seeing that this thread wasn't even about the bridge battle. at least not until YOU kept bringing it up.
What else is shan known for? I'll wait
sure theres niche threads for new masta ace & DITC material that's filled with die-hards. but theyre not making any real noise breh.
yeah ok fam lol
and yes i do get what youre saying. but you would've been better off just making a separate thread asking why shan dissed krs in 2016, instead of coming into an unrelated thread where KRS isn't even mentioned, and claiming that hes stuck on the KRS beef.
whether it about fresh prince or not. we all know that Shan still feels some type of way about KRS. Peep the entire interview to this if you think im lying. he spent a large portion focusing on just that.
