People love bringing in facts of other countries. If you make 22hr in Denmark, 45% of that goes to the Feds. If you are making 7.25, you probably aren’t paying federal tax. I bet if you’re making 12hr, you aren’t paying fed taxes.
I get the optics and sentiment but it’s apples to oranges. A lot of European countries are socialist. The people work for the people and they divide that money amongst the services for the people.
America would never do that. You work for the corporations and your taxes dollars benefits the elite, the military, pharmaceutical companies + politicians.
Would you really want to pay more taxes so they can steal your money and not use it for the greater good?
Our corporate taxes are low and fast food has low margins. What you pay for that burger does benefit corporate McDonalds, but it also benefits the workers with little benefit to the Feds. So you can feel good about eating your fast food. Plus who do you see cooking the food anyway? At least in major cities?
That border is wide open. You are supporting your Central American brothers and sister with your eating habits.
