This nikka really gunna talk about "watered down league" when steve fukkin nash won back to back MVP's, and a garbage ass New Jersey Nets team went to back to back NBA finals (easily the worst team to pull off that feat) in HIS era.

1) A lot of people including myself were shocked that Nash won the MVP over Kobe/Shaq, and thought maybe the league was trying to attract more white fans (this was the thugged out baggy jean era)

2) Eastern Conference has been irrelevant for close to 20 years now, ain't nothin' new :manny:

All time greats like Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams? The Rockets lost two years in a row in the first round to the Jazz......and they had homecourt advantage BOTH times

Yeah but the Jazz had arguably one of the top 5 coaches/basketball minds ever in Jerry Sloan. Would you credit all the Spurs championships to Tim Duncan? :mjpls: All the Patriots championships to Tom Brady? :mjpls:

But see that's just it...I don't wanna bring steph down:what:...U showing serious stanning symptoms...if u happy he first unanimous,
I couldn't give a fukk if he didn't win it unanimously (the right man won it - by how many votes is irrelevant to me). I don't see how previous MVPs getting shafted out of winning unanimously means that Curry didn't deserve to be unanimous this season - he's not competing against past winners - he's competing against the players that are in the league now. All that should matter is did he deserve to win it unanimously this season? And the answer is yes.
so be it...he is, I ain't trippin...but me and T-Mac and others of the same opinion aren't plotting on currys downfall...stop it:childplease:....it's about the unfair politics the league has played over the years that has placed them in this corner. Steph is the first and now there will be others...but that doesn't change the fact that it's unfair to those who came before them and were deserving. Enjoy ya heroes accomplishment...but don't downplay the greats before him.
And that doesn't change the fact that Curry is deserving also. Your entire argument wouldn't exist if two voters (one in '00 and the other in '13) actually voted with their heads and picked Shaq and LeBron (instead of wasting it on a token pick) - you're basically saying that due to two voters' stupidity in past seasons that Curry doesn't deserve to be the unanimous MVP THIS season - which is patently ridiculous.

I honestly hated the 90s WHILE the 90s were going on because I saw the fall off from the 80s. Free agency and expansion scattered the league. Plus I was in NY. I hated the "effort with scrubs" ball from the Knicks. :scust:
I can dig that. I was born in 82, and my first real memories of the sport were the Bulls beating the Lakers for the trophy in 91. Magic was my favorite player and I cried when he got that house in virginia.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?

So JVG wasn't a good coach now? The Rockets were the 3rd seed going against the 6th seed who at the time was one of the youngest squads in the league and weren't even in the playoffs the year before :mjlol:

Interesting since Yao & Tmac both played all 7 games the first year against the Jazz :mjpls:

JVG was good, but Jerry Sloan is arguably top 5 EVER. Belichek outchea winnin' championships with CFL running backs and receivers, that's what a GOAT type coach does, which makes the base for McGrady's argument, OVERALL the league is watered down, sh*tty coaching, sh*tty refereering, sh*tty athletes. Hell the league is basically the Western Conference at this point. IMHO opinion the league may as well scrap the first round these days, it's not competitive anymore. I respect Curry for what he's doing in this era, but let's not get carried away here, CJ McCollum isn't Scottie Pippen, Gary Payton, or Jason Kidd, and the Blazers aren't sending out enforcers to handle Curry like they would have in the 80s/90s. The league isn't the same, it is what it is, now go on :camby:

Basically, all top 50 All time candidates, Allen the best 3 point shooter ever, VC the best dunker ever,
:russ:
Ray Allen on Steph Curry's shooting: 'Steph is in a category of his own'

SLAM: Where do you rank Stephen Curry in terms of the greatest shooters in the history of the League? A lot of fans might argue that you hold that title.

RA: Based on what he’s done, I think he has to be—he’s on his way to being the best ever. It’s always arguable, based on who’s telling the story. One thing I always tell people is, it’s hard to compare generations. Everybody has something or somebody that makes him feel special about the game, or the way they saw and the way they appreciate the game. I’ve sat back and watched a lot, and listened to a lot of people talk.

He’s creating a lane all of his own. People comparing him to me, to Reggie [Miller]. But I think Steph is in a category of his own. Just being able to have great handles the way he has with the ball, to be able to score at will by getting to the basket. Myself, Reggie Miller, Kyle Korver, Klay Thompson—we play a different game. We’re shooters. We come off screens, pindowns—Steph can do that, but he’s creating a different lane. Point guards haven’t been able to do what he’s been able to do, because he’s mixing that 2 guard-ish in there with having the great handles of a point guard.

When I broke the three-point record, they (Steph and Klay) watched that and it became something they said in their mind, this is what I want to do. Now, there are kids watching him, saying I want to work on these things, I want to be just like Steph.
other than Lebron and a past his prime Tim Duncan who is really a top 50 all time candidate in today's NBA?
Curry, Durant, Wade, Paul will be considered top 50 as well. Then you have guys like Russ, AD and Harden.
Basically. Could you imagine Mitch Richmond getting a MVP vote in the 90s? :laff:
What if I told you he did:jbhmm:

What if I told you Mookie Blaylock and Mark Price got some votes for MVP:jbhmm:

Interesting since Yao & Tmac both played all 7 games the first year against the Jazz :mjpls:
I remember Boozer giving Yao that work:sas2:
